I recently received a fragrance sample of Charlotte Tilbury’s first fragrance Scent of a Dream eau de parfum courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury. I have read a lot of negative reviews regarding this fragrance as not being too special, has some cloying notes, but I beg to differ. Fragrance is very subjective, it can react differently based on a person’s body chemistry. With that being said, I was very pleasantly surprised by this scent. It has a perfect and complex blend of fresh, and floral notes that immediately transport me to a heavenly place.
The top notes are comprised of lemon, peach, mandarin, bergamot, saffron, black pepper. With intoxicating mid notes of the floral heart of tuberose, violet, jasmine, patchouli and incense. Then it is wrapped up with the base notes of ambroxan, hedione, and ISO-E super molecule note and “fire tree.”
Now, some of the base note ingredients I am not familiar with and not one of the ingredients stand out as too strong or “cloying.” It is just a perfect blend of a heavenly dream.
