Re-purposing Used K-cups for planting seeds

In celebrating Earth Day, I wanted to share my DIY re-purposing project using K-cups.

I had this brilliant idea of making use of the empty used K-cups as seedling containers.  A way of reducing waste by re-purposing them.

I emptied out the K-cups, cleaned, and dried them.

I then added potting mix and planted seeds in them.  The seeds I planted are lavender hyssop, wild flowers, and Shasta daisies.  I watered my seedlings, hoping they would grow.  I have some little seedlings growing.

Below are pics of my project.

After the seeds have grown, and are able to be transplanted, they can just be popped out of the K-cups and transplanted to a bigger pot or the ground.

Good luck, enjoy Earth Day, and let me know what you guys have done to help reduce, reuse, and recycle to help  our environment.
